When it comes to motorcycle travels, visibility is key. Especially with the arrival of the winter months, motorcyclists often face a problem related to rain and humidity: the formation of condensation on the helmet visor. The anti-fog visor is the ideal solution to ensure clear and safe vision, even in the most adverse conditions.

Whether you’re an urban motorcyclist or a fan of long journeys on your bike, we’re sure of one thing: at least once, you will have found yourself facing the rain during your travels. In these situations, to travel safely, it is essential to ensure that the helmet visor does not fog up.

To ensure a clear view of the road and be prepared for any unexpected events, it is essential to equip your helmet with an anti-fog visor. Let’s find out more about it.

Pinlock and Fog City Anti-Fog Visors: Safety First

 The anti-fog visor is an essential accessory for those who wish to travel by motorcycle with peace of mind.

To avoid fogging, Caberg helmets rely on Pinlock and Fog City lenses. These are sheets of semi-rigid transparent acetate that are installed inside the helmet visor using two eccentric pins. Thanks to the silicone seal that follows the edge of the lens, an air chamber is created that prevents the formation of condensation, ensuring perfect visibility at all times.

Simple and quick installation of the anti-fog visor

With the right instructions, installing anti-fog lenses is a simple and quick operation. Here are the steps to follow for a perfect installation without risk of damaging your helmet visor:

  • Dismantle the visor of the helmet, as indicated in the instruction manual;
  • Wash the inside of the visor with water and mild soap, then dry it with a soft microfibre cloth or with toilet paper, to avoid scratches;
  • Bend the lens (from the gasket side) and position it to snap between the pins located on the sides of the visor;
  • Make sure the seal adheres well to the visor;
  • Remove the yellow protective film from the lens;
  • Mount the visor back on the helmet.

REMEMBER THAT THE PINS ON THE VISOR ARE ECCENTRIC, SO BY TURNING THEM YOU CAN CHANGE THE POSITION OF THE LENS ON THE VISOR.

By following these steps, you’ll be ready to set off and enjoy a motorcycle trip without any unexpected surprises! Remember that inside the Pinlock anti-fog visor packages you will find detailed assembly instructions. If you need further support, please refer to our video tutorial.

With Caberg helmets, safety comes first.

The anti-fog visors available on the market come in various grades, each with specific performance and absorbent capabilities. Caberg offers various options, including:

  • Pinlock 30,
  • Pinlock 70,
  • Pinlock 70 Max Vision,
  • Pinlock 120 Max Vision

The differences between these grades lie in the thickness and therefore in the reaction time against fogging. The higher the number, the faster it will take to defog the visor. The Pinlock 120 visor, for example, reacts more quickly than the Pinlock 30. Furthermore, the Pinlock 70 Max Vision stands out for its wider lens, which covers the entire visor.
