The new GP01 Carbon<\/strong><\/a>, Caberg’s top-of-the-range racing helmet, was tested by Christian Corneo from Motorionline<\/a> in an intense session between track riding and everyday use. An ideal proving ground to assess all the technical solutions developed by Caberg’s Research and Development department.<\/p>\n

What emerged from this test? An FIM Level 2 approved helmet with a racing vocation, which impressed the tester for its fit, aerodynamic stability, and comfort<\/strong>. According to Motorionline, its performance can compete with that of models in a much higher price range.<\/p>\n

Double certification: ECE 22.06 and FIM LEVEL 2<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As highlighted in the review, the GP01 is the first model of the brand to obtain FIM LEVEL 2 approval<\/strong>, in addition to the already stringent ECE 22.06<\/strong> standard.<\/p>\n

Thanks to this certification, the helmet is suitable for use in all world motorcycle championships and, at the same time, ensures that all riders can rely on safety performance at the highest standards, both on track and on the road.<\/p>\n

The shell is made of carbon fibre<\/strong>, to achieve the best balance between lightness and protection.<\/p>\n

Aerodynamics developed in a wind tunnel<\/strong><\/h2>\n

One of the aspects most praised by Motorionline is its high-speed stability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The GP01 was developed in a wind tunnel with particular focus on aerodynamics: the rear spoiler helps reduce turbulence and keeps the helmet neutral and stable even when the airflow becomes extremely intense.<\/p>\n

During the test, conducted on the circuits of Imola, Cremona and Vallelunga with high-powered supersport and hypernaked bikes, the GP01 proved to be extremely stable even close to 300 km\/h<\/strong>, allowing the rider to keep their vision steady and their focus firmly on the racing line.<\/p>\n

Comfort even after many hours in the saddle<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Despite its racing soul, Christian Corneo highlights how the GP01 offers an extremely comfortable fit<\/strong>, with uniform pressure on the forehead and cheeks that never becomes annoying.<\/p>\n

The interior padding, fully removable and washable, is made with breathable and hypoallergenic fabrics<\/strong>. The combination of padding and the ventilation system (front and top air intakes plus four rear extractors) ensures a constant airflow even after many hours of riding on the hottest days.<\/p>\n

A complete racing helmet: equipment and SOS Medical ID<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Motorionline also appreciated the GP01\u2019s premium standard equipment<\/strong>: the package includes a racing helmet bag, a clear visor, a second dark visor, and the Pinlock MaxVision 120 <\/strong>lens, which minimises the risk of fogging.<\/p>\n

On the safety side, the helmet integrates the Caberg SOS Medical ID<\/strong><\/a>, an NFC device that allows riders to store their personal details, medical information, and emergency contacts.<\/p>\n

In the event of an accident or medical emergency, a smartphone simply needs to be placed near the SOS Medical ID logo on the helmet to display the information and automatically send the rider\u2019s location to selected contacts.<\/p>\n

A system that adds an extra level of security, making the GP01 a valuable ally not only in racing but also in road use.<\/p>\n

Motorionline\u2019s verdict<\/strong><\/h2>\n

After extensive use on both track and road, Motorionline’s conclusion is clear: GP01 Carbon is \u201cpassed with flying colours\u201d<\/strong>. Christian Corneo speaks of \u201clove at first contact\u201d, comparing the helmet’s performance to that of models costing almost twice the GP01\u2019s list price.<\/p>\n

A racing helmet developed in a wind tunnel, FIM LEVEL 2 approved, lightweight, stable, and comfortable even after many hours in the saddle: the GP01 best represents Caberg’s philosophy in the world of competitions.<\/p>\n
