2017 has certainly not been short on satisfaction for\u00a0Caberg<\/strong>, having accumulated various victories and podiums with the riders who entrust their on-track protection to the Bergamo-based company and its helmets.
\nIn 2018, Caberg is set to increase the quantity and quality of its riders, who will be able to take advantage of the new\u00a0Drift Evo<\/a>, a helmet that is a real concentration of technology and know-how, thus ensuring performance and safety. The tri-composite outer shell (fibreglass, Kevlar and carbon) is now available in two sizes to guarantee lightness and excellent aerodynamics. The wide visibility offered by the quick-release visor, the comfort of the new removable and washable interior with double anti-turbulence neck roll and the effective internal ventilation are all down to the R&D department, which has been able to utilise the data from various tests conducted on track by Caberg riders.
\nThe racing season that is set to start in a few weeks\u2019 time will see\u00a0Caberg<\/strong>\u00a0involved in the most important world and national championships.<\/p>\n

2018 sees a Caberg new-entry in the shape of\u00a0Ayrton Badovini<\/strong>, competing in the\u00a0Supersport World Championship<\/strong>\u00a0this year with the Vamag team\u2019s MV Agusta Reparto Corse. The experienced rider, who hails from Biella but is a long-time Romagna resident, was the winner of the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup in 2010. After a season spent in World Superbike, he has now decided to return to the 600 class, a category in which he raced in 2016, winning the Sepang race. Armed with his talent, significant experience and a factory-supported MV F3, Badovini will be aiming for the top in World Supersport.<\/p>\n

The collaboration between Caberg and\u00a0Massimo Roccoli<\/strong>\u00a0will continue in 2018. Thanks to his experience, the rider has made a significant contribution to the development of the Drift Evo helmet. The five-time Italian Supersport champion will continue in the\u00a0CIV 600 class<\/strong>, with the aim of increasing his title tally. Last season, Massimo competed in some of the CIV races, earning the win at Misano, while also participating in certain World Superbike rounds. This year, Roccoli will focus only on CIV Supersport, where he will ride a Yamaha R6.<\/p>\n

One of Roccoli\u2019s most fierce opponents in the\u00a0CIV Supersport<\/strong>\u00a0will surely be\u00a0Alessio Velini,<\/strong>\u00a0in his third year with Caberg. After winning the National Trophy 1000 SBK in 2016 and obtaining third place in the same championship in 2017, Alessio has decided to return to the national Supersport series. The Assisi native, who has competed in both the World Superbike and Supersport Championships in the past and boasts numerous wins in the national series, will be fighting for the title of Italian champion with a Yamaha R6.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Positive confirmation for\u00a0Simone Saltarelli<\/strong>, an expert\u00a0CIV Superbike r<\/strong>ider who will use the Caberg Drift for the second year in a row.<\/p>\n

Caberg is pleased to announce that\u00a0Matteo Ferrari<\/strong>\u00a0has also chosen to use the Drift Evo in the Italian Superbike championship. Third in the overall standings in both 2016 and 2017, Ferrari has proved to be one of the most promising young Italian riders, so much so that this year he joins the Barni Racing Ducati team and will compete in the\u00a0CIV Superbike<\/strong>\u00a0as well as benefitting from a few\u00a0wildcard entries in the European Stock 1000.<\/strong>\u00a0It will be an important year for Matteo, one which could open the door to a future in Stock 1000, maybe even World Superbike.<\/p>\n

But Ferrari is not the only \u2018junior\u2019 in the Caberg team, as it comprises three more talented youngsters in the shape of\u00a0Luca Bernardi,\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Andrea Fusco<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Reid Battye.<\/strong>
\nLuca Bernardi,<\/strong>\u00a0just 16 years old, is the Italian Supersport 300 champion. In 2018, he will take part in both the\u00a0CIV SS 300<\/strong>\u00a0with the aim of defending his title and the\u00a0SS300 World Championship<\/strong>. An important year for him too then, as he makes his international debut at some of the world\u2019s most prestigious tracks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Fifteen-year old\u00a0Andrea Fusco<\/strong>, winner of the\u00a0CIV Moto3<\/strong>\u00a0race in Misano in 2017, will remain in the category in which he starred last year with the aim of making another step up in terms of quality and fighting for the title of Italian champion.<\/p>\n

After graduating from the Australian Supersport 300 in 2017, 15-year-old\u00a0Reid Battye<\/strong>\u00a0will take part in the\u00a0CIV Supersport 300<\/strong>\u00a0and certain\u00a0300 World Championship<\/strong>\u00a0races this year.<\/p>\n

Caberg is happy to be able to confirm its collaboration with\u00a0Maurizio Castelli<\/strong>, who in 2018 will also participate in the\u00a0DiDi (Diversely Disabled) Dream World Bridgestone International Championship<\/strong>, which includes races held in conjunction with the MotoGP and Superbike world championships.
