Over the past week end, Antonio Cinotti , Francesca de Munari, and Stefano Camaiani returned to Siena after a 27-day journey that led them to Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, to support Garage Italia, a professional mechanic training school for kids run by the Italian no-profit association Bambini nel Deserto<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The guys covered over 7.000 km with their old Africa Twin 600 from 1989 and an Opel Frontera Sport from \u201897 and have documented the whole trip through social networks with the hashtag #progettofolle03<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Antonio, Francesca, and Stefano brought along with them our\u00a0Tourmax helmets<\/a><\/strong> during the extending commuting routes through Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal, Mali, and Burkina Faso; during almost all the trip, expect for few times when Stefano took the lead of the motorcycle, Antonio strained a lot his helmet spending even 10 hours a day on the bike!<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the journey, they visited also other schools, kindergartens, and orphanages supervised by the organizations Bambini nel Deserto and Fondazione Fabrizio Meoni, with the aim to bring some educational material and not only to kids; once in Ouagadougou, the three travelers gave their vehicles and everything was left on board to Garage Italia and to the volunteers of Bambini nel Deserto.<\/span><\/div>\n

Our friends from Progetto Folle particularly enjoyed crossing the Tropic of Cancer, the stop-over at the beautiful pink Retba Lake in Senegal that was often the finishing point of the Dakar Rally, the visit at the first school opened by Francesco Meoni in Dakar in the Guinaw Rails district, and last but not least the collaboration with Garage Italia, that is a dream come true!<\/span><\/p>\n
