Caberg TRIP review by AMotoMio

The new TRIP was the focus of AMotoMio’s review, in which the magazine tested Caberg’s first flip-back helmet, highlighting its practicality, comfort and technical features.

With TRIP, Caberg enters the flip-back helmet segment with a model designed to offer versatility, safety and everyday practicality. AMotoMio’s review highlights this very aspect: TRIP represents a mature debut in a category increasingly appreciated by motorcyclists looking for a helmet that can adapt to different riding situations.

TRIP: Caberg’s first flip-back helmet

TRIP is Caberg’s first flip-back helmet with a reversible chin guard. Unlike traditional modular models, the chin guard does not remain raised on top of the shell. Instead, it rotates 180° all the way to the back. This allows riders to switch quickly from a full-face-style configuration to an open mode similar to a jet.

The helmet is ECE 22.06 P/J approved, so it can be used with the chin guard either closed or open.

According to AMotoMio, one of the most interesting aspects of the model is precisely how easy it is to switch from one configuration to the other. The movement is controlled by a button positioned under the front edge of the chin guard and can be operated with just one hand.

Comfort, ventilation and visibility in the road test

In the review, AMotoMio also highlights the quality of the breathable and hypoallergenic lining and the overall comfort of the helmet.

Ventilation is ensured by a large adjustable air vent on the top of the shell, an air vent on the chin guard and two rear air extractors. During the test, AMotoMio found the ventilation effective even in the jet configuration, where the airflow helps keep the top of the head cool.

Visibility is another important element. TRIP is equipped with an anti-scratch outer visor with a Pinlock 70 Max Vision lens included as standard, as well as an integrated sunshade visor. AMotoMio appreciated the protection offered by the visor system in both configurations, also pointing out the absence of optical distortion even when wearing glasses.

Safety and Caberg technical features

AMotoMio also underlines the importance of the Caberg SOS Medical ID device, based on NFC technology. Integrated into the helmet, as on other top-of-the-range Caberg models, it can provide the rider’s key information and immediately send their location in an emergency.

In terms of materials and construction, the shell is made of LG CHEM HI-IMPACT ABS, with a declared weight of 1750 +/- 50 grams in size L. In the test, AMotoMio reports that the perceived weight feels lower than the declared figure, thanks to good balance on the head.

A versatile helmet for touring and everyday use

AMotoMio’s review confirms TRIP’s versatile character. The helmet is designed for different types of motorcyclists, especially touring riders and those who want to quickly change the helmet configuration according to the route, temperature or type of use.
