The Caberg racing family has been recently enriched by the arrival of a very young talented rider, that is Luca Lunetta. For the season 2021, He will wear the full-face Drift Evo during the FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship, that is just a step away from the Moto3 World Championship.
He was born is Rome on May 25, 2006 and he started racing already in 2011 on a mini moto at the Torricola racetrack. The following year, he began competing in trophies and national championships reserved for mini moto, until season 2015 that saw him take his first successes in the European Junior A Mini Road Racing and in the Italian Cadet Championship. In 2016, Luca celebrated his 10th birthday with the conquest of the Italian Pre MiniGP 50 CIV junior Championship. Since then, his carrier continued with many successes, such as in 2017 when he became the Italian Champion of the MiniGP 50 CIV Junior. The following season he not only conquered the European MiniGP 50 Championship, but also the Italian Championship CIV in the same category.
In 2019, Luca debuted in the CIV PreMoto 3, being able to dominate the championship with 6 victories, 11 podiums, and 5 pole positions, and conquering the Italian Title that enabled him to be included among the National talents by the Italian Motorcycling federation.
In 2020, he disputed two races in the CIV Moto3 and he was selected as one of the two Italian riders able to participate in the red Bull Rookies Cup, that is a trophy dedicated to young talents who are about to access different categories of the World championships. Although the many difficulties caused by the pandemic, Lunetta managed to stand out and be reconfirmed for season 2021. This year, besides the Red Bull Rookies Cup, he will compete in the FIM CEV Moto3 junior World Championship with the AC Racing Team, the same team that supported Luca when he won the PreMoto3 title in 2019.
All the prerequisites are in place for a great season, even if the “mundialito” is certainly one of the most difficult championship in the world, but Lunetta is well aware that is important to take this path in order to gain important and international experiences.
“I very happy to continue the collaboration with the AC Racing Team”- Luca has declared- This year we will debut in a very important championship and I am pretty sure that both my team and I will be able to achieve great things. I will give my best in every race in order to reach my targets, that’s is improving round after round in order to conquer the first positions. Being able to compete also in the Rookies Cup this season, I will be able to grow professionally and gain more experience, so I am looking forward to start.”
Luca chose the Caberg Drift Evo as his safety companion. “I am very happy to be joining the Caberg racing group -Luca said- I have had already the chance to try the Drift Evo, that besides being very nice it’s also very comfortable and performing. It is clear that is the fruit of many tests done by various talented and expert riders on the racetracks around the world. I am aware that Caberg have a lot of confidence in me and together will be able to reach important targets.“
