A crash forces Gamarino to retire from the WSS race at Misano Adriatico

A crash forces Gamarino to retire from the WSS race at Misano Adriatico
The seventh round of the Supersport world championship took place at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. Saturday, despite a crash in Superpole2, Christian Gamarino, riding for the Bardahl Evan Bros. Honda Racing team and celebrating his 23rd birthday, had obtained a solid fifth place finish and so lined up on the second row of the grid, for a race that took place in hot and sunny conditions.

After making a very fast start, Gamarino fought in the front group during the early laps, lying in around fourth position but unfortunately, he then crashed during lap four, at the Quercia turn, and was unable to continue with his race.
A real pity for the Italian and for the Bardahl Evan Bros. Honda Racing team who had high expectations ahead of their home race.

There is now a long summer break, of almost two months, for the Supersport riders, who will be back on track over the weekend of 18-20 August in Germany, at the Lausitzring.

Christian Gamarino: “I started well and wasn’t even pushing that hard, because in that moment I was just keeping up with Cluzel in the leading group. Unfortunately, I haven’t had much feeling at the front all weekend and haven’t understood the limit. Y front wheel unexpectedly lost traction and I crashed. I’m really sorry because I could have obtained a great result today and wanted to repay my team for their work with such a result. Now we have a long break before the next race at the Lausitzring”.
